Terms of Use
Restoring What Was Lost Inc., the archive steward, provides these terms to keep participation clear, respectful, and useful to future family researchers.
Public browsing and accounts
The archive is open to browse without an account. A verified account is required to comment or upload material. Keep your account information accurate and protect your password. Participation is free, and the site does not request payment information.
Your contributions
You retain ownership of material you submit. By submitting material and granting publication permission, you give Womack History a non-exclusive permission to store, review, reproduce, describe, and publish accepted material as part of the family archive and related historical or documentary work. You must own the material or have permission to provide it.
Review is required
Comments and uploads are not published automatically. The archive may approve, decline, edit descriptive information, hide, or remove material to protect privacy, improve accuracy, follow the law, or maintain the historical record. Submission does not guarantee publication or appearance in a documentary.
Accuracy and historical interpretation
Family-history research changes as new evidence appears. Public comments may contain memories or leads that have not been independently verified. The site distinguishes documented fact, interpretation, and open questions but cannot guarantee that every historical conclusion is complete.
Prohibited use
Do not impersonate another person, post abusive or deceptive content, upload malicious files, infringe rights, expose sensitive information about living people, automate abusive requests, or interfere with the archive’s operation.
Account and content removal
Accounts may be limited or suspended for misuse. To request correction, removal, or account deletion, use the private contact form or email womackheritageproject@gmail.com. Requests are evaluated with both personal privacy and the integrity of the historical record in mind.
