Privacy Policy
Womack History is stewarded by Restoring What Was Lost Inc. to preserve family history without exposing the private information of its visitors.
Information we collect
Browsing the public archive does not require an account. If you create one, the identity service processes your email address and password. Womack History stores your display name and any optional profile details you choose to provide. Passwords are handled by the identity service and are never stored in this site’s family-history database.
Comments and profiles
Your display name, approved comments, and optional family connection may appear publicly. Your email address does not. New comments remain private until reviewed. Optional location and biography fields should contain only information you are comfortable sharing in connection with the archive.
Documents and family material
Uploaded files, notes, your name, and your account email remain private during review. Nothing is published automatically. If material is accepted, the archive may publish the file and relevant source information under the permission you provided at submission. Please remove sensitive information about living people before uploading.
Contact messages and technical information
Private contact messages include the name, email, subject, and message you submit. The hosting and identity services may process ordinary security information such as cookies, request times, browser details, and network addresses to operate the site and prevent abuse.
How information is used
Information is used to provide accounts, attribute and moderate comments, review contributions, answer private requests, maintain security, and preserve approved family-history material. It is not used to request payment or ChatGPT credentials.
Retention and your choices
Account and moderation records are retained while needed to operate the archive and preserve an accurate editorial record. Private submissions may be retained for review and documentation. You may request access, correction, removal, or account deletion through the private contact form or by emailing womackheritageproject@gmail.com. Some archival or legal records may need to be retained when appropriate.
Living people and minors
Do not publish addresses, government identifiers, medical details, financial information, or other sensitive information about living people. A parent or guardian should contact the archive before submitting personal material about a minor.
Security and changes
The site uses encrypted connections, verified email accounts, limited write access, private file storage, and moderation. No online system can promise perfect security. Material policy changes will be dated on this page.
